Octopus is an enigmatic character who plays minor roles in several stories but only stars in one that comes to mind at the moment. it is a simple morality tale about not doing harm to our fellow creatures. Children were playing at the beach when the tide was very low and found a very small octopus stranded in a tide pool. Like children everywhere they started to torment the poor scared baby octopus by poking him with sticks. one of the village grandmothers warned them to treat him kindly but of course they ignored her and kept poking him. Soon there was a disturbance way out in the water and there come an octopus as large as a mountain crawling up the beach to the houses of the village which he soon reduced to kindling wood. There was no more tormenting of small creatures happening in that bay. This is a depiction of that baby octopus.
